Weights & Measures Act 1985 requires that CE marked measures (thimbles or optics) must be used to dispense the 4 prescribed spirits: Gin, Rum, Vodka and Whisky. These products must be sold in measures of 25ml, 35ml, 50ml or 70ml and displayed as such.
Since October 2011, Wine (when sold by the glass) must be offered in a 125ml measure and can also be offered in measures of 175ml and 250ml servings. Wine sold by the bottle (small or large) is not subject to these restrictions.
None CE Marked Freeflow Quick Shot Bottle Pourers are available here to aid quick and accurate service, especially for cocktails. However, they should always be used in conjection with a 25ml or 50ml thimble measures if used for the 4 precribed spirits.
